GS Yuasa Automotive Battery Statistics in Japan and Overseas

Automotive battery sales are reported separately for Japan and overseas. These are financial sales measures, not battery-unit shipments, physical capacity, market share or a direct measure of vehicle adoption.

Fiscal year Japan sales (¥ million) Overseas sales (¥ million) Combined sales (¥ million)
FY2023 87,802 247,329 334,237
FY2024 94,047 252,863 346,910

FY2026 108,006 264,511 372,517

The combined figures are transparent sums of the two company-reported segment sales. They should not be read as a separately reported company KPI.

Automotive-battery operating profit increased in both geographies: Japan recorded ¥6,547 million in FY2023, ¥8,071 million in FY2024, ¥10,669 million in FY2025 and ¥11,682 million in FY2026, while overseas recorded ¥13,345 million, ¥15,119 million, ¥18,703 million and ¥24,485 million respectively.

The earlier comparison also shows the scale difference in reported sales. Japan accounted for ¥81,494 million in FY2022 versus ¥186,743 million overseas, and ¥87,802 million in FY2023 versus ¥247,329 million overseas.

Virgin materials 101,702 tonnes
Recycled materials 97,119 tonnes
Water consumption 2,417,899 m3

FY2020 54.6% 34.8%
FY2021 63.3% 36.5%
FY2022 56.5% 36.4%
